ReadyGen is a unit-based comprehensive literacy program that is used in grades K-5. Each unit is broken down into two modules. Every module culminates in a performance based assessment that can be used to measure students’ mastery of standards. The end of unit assessment presents engaging literary and informational passages. Students answer selected-response and technology-enhanced comprehension and vocabulary questions. They also respond to narrative, informational, and opinion writing prompts. This assessment provides valuable information on students’ progress and informs instruction. The Realize platform also provides practice with Next Generation Assessments and Performance Tasks. All benchmark assessments may be administered online or in paper and pencil format.
