Tyler Walsh was born and raised in Lacey Township. During high school he excelled in multi-sport athletics, participating in both football and lacrosse. He was recognized as the captain his senior year and also named the captain of the all county offshore game. Later that year he continued his education at King University studying Criminal Justice. Shortly after, he started his career in law enforcement in Beach Haven, NJ.

With hard work, Tyler was sent to the Ocean County Police Academy and graduated in May of 2017. Soon after he had the chance to work back in his hometown as a Class 2 Law Enforcement Officer. Eventually, Tyler went on to obtain a full time job with the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department where he was assigned to the county’s crime scene investigation unit.

Just recently, in September 2021, Tyler earned the position and accomplished the goal of joining the Lacey Township Police Department as a full-time officer. Tyler is forever grateful for the time, effort and support he received from his family and friends over the years to get him where he always wanted to be. Tyler now gets to protect the great citizens of Lacey Township and walk the hallways of each school that he did as a young child.
