The LTHS peer mediators are a group of students who are interested in facilitating conflict resolution among students. Mediation is always voluntary and the peer mediators help the disputants solve their own problems and reach their own agreement. Peer mediators are trained to conduct mediations. Meetings for the organization are held the last Thursday of each month in A112 at 1:45, and actual mediations can be conducted before school, after school, or during the school day. If you are interested in being a peer mediator, please see Mrs. Rand for an application. This year, peer mediators are also undertaking school climate enhancement projects called the Great Kindness Challenge where students are recognized for doing random acts of kindness, and Smile Days, which encourage students and staff to exchange nice comments and smiles on designated days. Please see a peer mediator or teacher for details about these projects.
