I hope all is well. The following are plans for the Third and Fourth Grade Gifted and Talented students.
Booklet Forensic Investigations: Using Science to solve crimes
Week One: Students will read and complete Case #1 – Forgery, Pages 9-13 (Use your family members for handwriting samples.)
Week Two: Students will read and complete Case #2 – Theft, Pages 22-27
Week Three: Students will read and complete Case #3 – Criminal Mischief, Pages 29-34
Week Four: Students will review and complete “Using Science to Solve Crimes” pages 2-7
Booklet Stock Market Game
Monitor your stocks on Yahoo Finance. Record the value every Wednesday: 3/18, 3/25, 4/1, 4/8
Week One: Students will read and complete Lesson 7, “What are Bonds?” Students will complete Activity Sheet 1: About Bonds (2 pages) Activity Sheet 2: Kinds of Bonds (2 pages)
Week Two: Students will complete Activity Sheet 3: Making Money with Bonds (3 pages)
Week Three: Students will read and complete Lesson 8, “ What are Mutual Funds?” Students will complete Activity Sheet 1: What Kind of Mutual Fund am I?
Week Four: Students will complete Interpreting Statistics, 3 pages

Fourth Grade: Units of Study
The Stock Market, The Middle Ages, Inventions, The History and Physics of Bridges
Third Grade: Units of Study
Ancient Greece, Law and Order, The Scientific Method, Newton's Laws
I will be meeting with your child for approximately 6 weeks to work on a research project of choice. The choice in research will allow them to work on something that they are passionate about. Studies have shown that this enhances productivity and fosters lifelong learning.
Your child will create a culminating project to further enhance their learning.
All enrichment projects will be worked on during our class time.
